Yep! Sometimes we decide we want to try another piece. Nothing wrong with adjusting your collection. I see a lot of that on here, and I buy and sell. Usually several months or years in between changing my mind. It’s just fun to try things.

Actually they did care and many were called suckers, so by the same token these flippers should actually be lauded... and they would be if they weren't starving genuine buyers from product.

I don't think that this move makes you a flipper. You tried it, it did not work as well as you would have liked so you moved on. I would buy the Pelagos Blue first as you can buy it with a discount and it is a great summer watch with the color and titanium bracelet. Let the newness of the white dial OP settle a little and by fall you may get a discount on that watch. For me the Tudor watches are Rolex killers for cost, wear, quality and fun. Go try the Pelagos on and see what I mean. I like the watch so much I bought the Blue and the LHD. Good luck.

Well, I should’ve listened more closely to those claims. I gave it a chance, really I did, but it became increasingly clear to me that the combination of its being somewhat monochromatic, plus my less than perfect eyesight, meant that it had to go. Don’t get me wrong. It’s a lovely watch but unless I was in sunlight or a well lit room I was having difficulty reading the time.

I put the watch up for sale on the forum two days ago and today it sold. Yay for me. So, what’s next? The same watch with the white dial that was introduced at Baselworld a few months ago. Why not the blue OP39 since that was the runner up last year? Because if the white dial had been available a year ago that’s the one I would have gotten then and I’ve already decided to get the blue Pelagos to satisfy my itch for a watch with a blue dial.

So there you go. Go ahead, I’ve got a tough skin, call me a flipper.
I'm pretty sure we all appreciate the difference between selling on a watch that doesn't work for you and supplying grey market re sellers with hard to get references as a profit making sideline

You may be right William, about getting the Pelagos first. I called a TS yesterday and, while he didn’t give me a price on the OP since he hasn’t acquired one yet, he expected it to be higher than the other dial colors. Obviously this didn’t sit well with me. There shouldn’t be a premium on a dial color when everything else about the watch is the same.
I’ll have to make a few more calls but if I get the same story elsewhere I may just follow your suggestion and go for the Pelagos now.

If I buy a watch and it doesn’t work for my I sell it within the month. You held out for a year. Hardly makes you a flipper

Owning a watch for a year, and giving it a real go, isn’t the same as someone who flips after a week or two, at least in my book.

With your collection, have you considered a DJ41
I agree, this doesn't tag you as a flipper. You tried, it didn't work, good to move on. The new white OP is very sharp. I'd like one but I think it might be too small for my wrist. Or maybe will feel too small as I've been wearing my SD43 almost daily since I got it. I'm looking forward to seeing one in person.

Generally Accepted Watch Principles:

Sell in less than a year: flipper

Sell in more than a year: unsentimental person who doesn't appreciate the memories associated with scratches, nicks and dings

Sell on one year anniversary: gets a pass as long as it's not a habit

Welcome to the club. I’ve done it more than a few times myself. All part of the experience.
