Personally I don’t like the Explorer 2 with a white dial...

Personally, I'd pick the LVc in a heartbeat. The orange on the Explorer II kills it for me. However, I'd pick a polar 16570 above both the Sub and current Exp II.

Owned both. I would go ExplorerII over LVc every day.

The green sub would be a definite pass for me, what do you wear it with?

Man that is a tough call. I could make a case for either. I am a huge fan of the Explorer II, but this is so tough. The Explorer II is readily available which is a plus. The Explorer II is big, but relatively thin. In my opinion it wears a lot more comfortably than the Submariner. But that green sunburst dial is stunning.

I guess if pressed I'd recommend green Sub if you can find one. If you can, put some pictures up of your Date-Just. Good luck!

The Exp II is more versatile IMHO.

I’d get something a little more sporty or a PM for everyday wear and same the DJ for dressier occasions. It will also make your dad’s watch that more special.
