Small amounts of dirt get between your wrist and the watch. That can cause small, fine scratches over time. The band touches along 2 "tracks".

Do you think it’s contagious ? Maybe it is better put the watch in a travel box separately .

The endlinks def scratch the case, and the clasp can also scratch the case back if you let it sit on the table

I always put mine on a cushion or even on an odd sock (clean!)when its off the wrist. Bracelets can ruin a case when they scrape against it.

Indeed. I’m surprised people even think about this stuff. Who cares? If you wear your watch it’s going to scuff up and develop patina. Some Japanese have a way of looking at things know as Wabi-Sabi. Embracing some of that philosophy would do some of you much good. You’ll be astonished how much freer and lighter and joyous you’ll feel every day you’re not possessed by possessions. Just a little friendly advice.

Huh. I’ve worn my 116710LN nearly every day for four plus years. Always take it off at night and at other times I don’t need a watch. As it runs a little over a second slow I lay it face up to regulate so the caseback is always resting on the bracelet. Those thousand plus days haven’t ruined my caseback.
