Which GS Quartz Watch?
I’m looking to add a 9F GS to my collection, and saw both of these at the Seiko boutique yesterday. I’m a bit torn as to which one would be the better choice. The SBGX093 has a case shape that I really like, and perhaps is a bit more versatile. I also like the old Seiko logo on this watch. The SBGV238 is one of the two limited editions released at Basel this year, but I think I’m most attracted to the fact that it has a display back, and a larger case diameter. I’d like it better if it didn’t have the gold bezel, but in-person, the gold doesn’t really stand out that much, so I could probably live with it.
Which one would you prefer and why? Here’s the SBGV238 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Don't buy one unless you love it. I had a whole display case to choose from in Japan (there's about 25 JDM quartz models) and this one jumped right out at me. You can get them online from Japanese dealers, and the ref number is SBGT235.

For me, it would be the SBGV205G. I like the silver dial with blue hand.

Those two are very nice looking as well. The boutique has the SBGV205, but it didn’t really stand out to me. I completely agree that I shouldn’t get anything that I don’t love. I do like the SBGX093 quite a bit, but I might have to ask about the SBGT235 now. I really like the idea of having the day and date on a watch that I don’t have to keep on a winder when not wearing it.

That's my favourite case, and was what I was going to get, but the Day/Date funtion on the 235 won me over.

For me, the blue hand of the 205 wins out over the need with the 235 to synchronize the day of the week with the date (even if the red "SUN" is very cool). :-) |

Synchronize? The day of the week is always correct; you just have to quickset the date a few times a year, as with the 205 and other date watches. Or am I misunderstanding?

I would do SBGX093 because of the no date. Imagine you really only need to touch the crown twice a year with +/- 10 sec a year accuracy ...

I really want that two tone to add to my collection. See that little star above the six marker? It's an enhanced movement, +-5 seconds/year.
