What is a Serti Dial?

Hi All,

i have noticed the phrase 'Serti' used in relation to dials. ( Not sure of spelling)

A check f the dictionary tells nothing... could anyone please explain?

kindest regards,
Jack

I was told, (here on this forum), that the word 'serti' is from the French,

meaning 'crimped', and refers to the method of setting a stone or stones into the dial.

Correct , it comes from the french verb " sertir " meaning in the orfèvrerie business setting stones

Seen a trio of serti white dialed TT yachtmaster in 3 different sizes. Those looks awesome. The stones go really well with the white dial.

I wear mine anytime I want to know what time it is. Skiing, riding mountain bike, relaxing, pheasant hunting, going out with friends or getting dressed more formally. The occasion makes no difference to me.

That one is blinged out. You are right, though. wear it wherever and whenever. Loved my 16613 LB serti dialed Sub. Should have never sold it.

Although nearly 8 years is a long time to ponder that question
- I would say a Serti fits any occasion.

Now an iced out GMT? That’s a whole ‘nother matter...

I bought the 16613 with a string dial in 1991, long before I knew diamond dials weren't cool. Because it's my first Rolex, I will never sell it, and I wear it frequently.

That is a unique dial option - and you won’t have to worry about old lume plots flaking off!
