I have often surfed with my various Rolex on over the years, without any issues.
More danger leaving it on the beach and it getting stolen.

But never used them in large surf, with large impact potential.

I can't comment on using one on a jet ski. There is no love lost between surfers and jet ski riders where I surf (due to jet ski riders coming into the line up to go wave jumping).

But I would imagine if you came off at speed and hit the water it could quite easily rip your watch off. I have seen a good few jet ski riders in a bad way after falling off (unconscious etc) and need rescuing.

Obviously your not going to damage it but it could fall off during a hard fall. If that doesn't worry you go for it.

How fast is your jet ski?
Don't some jet skis travel at well over 60mph?
If you came off at those speeds, you and your watch may be very knackered.

Why risk it?

I'm all for wearing my Rolex doing most things, but jet skiing don't see the need or the point. No real benefit of wearing for the slight chance it comes off, and end up at the bottom of the lake or ocean. Sure the I hear the I have insurance people, but see points above.

I appreciate and understand all the points.

Truth is, i have never jet ski prior, i dont assume I will be going exceedingly fast. Come to think of it now, I may bring along my SubC Hulk as well..:)

Cool, a recommendation is exactly that. Do what make you most comfortable and happy! Good luck and enjoy!

You can, and I have worn my Sub wakeboarding, but most of us have multiple watches for different occasions, it gives you an excuse to rotate through your collection. I normally wear my Seiko SKX007 diver on the boat.

it can handle it.....but why? Do you really need a $10k watch on your wrist while riding a sea doo?

Considering most modern Jet Skis run 60+mph its not a matter of if but when you fall off at speed. Can the watch handle the water and environment, without a doubt, BUT can a locking clasp come undone during a hard fall, you better believe it. The choice is yours but me personally my Rolex stays at home when doing any kind of possible high impact water sports.

The vibrations of the jet ski should not be an issue, but, I'm not convinced that the watch will always handle well the impact against water traveling at 60 mph.

Most water ratings charts I have seen state that "serious water sports" start at a WR rating of 200 meters, with 100 meters being good for recreational surfing, swimming, snorkeling, sailing and water sports.

Will a BLNR fail? Maybe/probably not. But, I personally would not wear a BLNR on a jet ski (the clasp issue is even more of a reason not to, IMHO).

I wear my subc or Omega smpc driving the boat, riding the jet ski, and riding my slalom ski behind the boat at 34 mph. Plenty of crashes that hurt me, but the watches came out OK. Only wear them because they are on my wrist the second I get up, so I usually forget to take them off.

got it. which led me to thinkng, maybe ( a poor man;'s way) is to use one of those rubber bands and wrap it around the bracelet, sort of like a key band you use on one of those water parks..:)

some very good thoughts...just curious, as the watch has that extra clip lock....im thinking how it can come out.
