Question? Will accidentally forgetting to tighten the stem down on a professional watch (GMT Master II) damage the watch by ambient humidity from the air getting in to the watch even if the watch did not get wet from water in any way?

Nope, that's why it's called the triple lock crown.
I think tighten the crown is just one of the lock, you still have two more layer of protection even if you leave the crown unwind. I am sure some of the senior members on the forum can explain this better. |
