What Shortage? Incoming Batman

While I spend tons of time lurking, sometimes the WIS God's smile down and it's time to share.
Some may remember my April post about walking into a local AD and being offered a 114060 (which is now for sale to make room) and I was delighted.

Fast forward to tonight. Stroll over for some gelato and the wife wanted to look at earrings. I walk in and my AD recognizes me and the sub on my wrist. We exchange pleasantries and I'm asksed if I'm interested in any of the date justs in the glass?
I stressed how happy I am with the sub and I'm a sports watch guy due to my profession. I mentioned the pepsi and they said "they're coming but it'll be a month or two" and pressed me again to the Date Justs...

I mentioned that the batman would be the only GMT I would be ready to buy right now and they said one might be able to procured tonight.

The AD texted the manager who left for the evening and told me it'll be a few min. We went to get Gelato and afterwards we were met outside and told, if I'm ready, they are.
We walked in and I tried it on and realized while I love the pepsi, that jubilee bracelet doesn't do it for me.
We rung it up, confessed they have a daytona in the safe and have been seeing 1-2 pieces a month of the sought after watches (No Sky-D's though)
It was also stated that they are not offering the harder to find watches to walk in's and only repeat customers and will not be putting them out in the display case.

While I have seen in places like San Fran and NY the shortage problem, here in the sunny desert:

Congrats.
But lucky you were a repeat customer, or you may not be asking ‘What shortage?’.
1 - 2 per month doesn’t sound like plentiful stock either.

Beauty! Enjoy.

As a side note I can't believe how these AD's are trying to shove DateJusts down everyone's throat. Ridiculous.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Super excited and happy that cultivating relationships fosters offers of watches lol

It’s funny. My wife is into Hermès bags and now teases me Rolex is going the Hermès route of being selective of who’s offered what

Congrats. So would you say you prefer the BLNR to the Sub? Assuming yes as you said you’re selling it.
