Winding

Hi, new member, how often should I be winding my Rolex date adjust? Thanks and regards, Leslie

Many will follow my post but:

From zero power reserve just give it a few turns to start it (5 - 6) and set the time and date.

Your wrist will do the rest just as it was designed to do.

Usually I would do approx 30 turns to get my watches going from a dead start...if you wear it daily then the power reserve will hold enough charge that it won't need winding unless left for a few days without wear.

With automatic watches there is a mechanism which prevents overwinding from the crown, nevertheless no need to over-do it with the winding. 30-40 is generally quoted as the amount of turns needed to fully charge the main spring which powers the watch.
