Dial Variations on the Submariner Date 116610LN
There have been a few comments on reddit around this, but I couldn't find a thread on the Submariner Date 116610LN dial variations.
From what I've found, the Submariner can be in bold or a heavier font (see the image below). Rolex.com shows the traditional, non-bold version. Has anyone else noticed any other dial variations on the current 116610LN? |

The comments on TRF concerning the bold text started a few months ago with the 114060. I've noticed it on the 116610 also on some of the FS ads.

The alignment of the text is also different. The "=" has also been modified.

Isn't there also a "300m" and "300 m" variation? I thought I saw that somewhere.

I've also noticed differences in fonts before. Notice the letter "A" in SUBMARINER is different? The one on the left goes to a "point" and the one on the right has a "flat" top on that letter. Spacing between all of the letters are different too. The left one is tighter together than the right. Spacing between the "t = 3" in the 1000ft = 300m is also different between the two.

Now that we're discussing this and the OP has put 2 watches right next to each other for comparison.....Do the numbers on the bezel of the left watch look more bold as well, compared to the right one?

This happens when rolex changes the brushes to print on the dials

Yeah, they change the font every now and again. Zeros look like "0" vs "O", bolt font, long and short "ft", etc.

The 114060 definitely has variation. I purchased mine 6/2018 and it had a bold “Submariner” and the “m” is right next to the “300” rather than a little bit of space

It's not a mechanical change in the delivery. It's a different dial. |

Wow, so many limited editions for the Sub family! Don't let SD43 mk1 owners find about it, though
