How Does the OP 116000 wear?

Meaning size wise versus let’s say a 36mm DJ? I plan to try and find a dealer who has the Blue OP 36mm in stock to try on, but in many photos I’ve seen, the blue OP 36 seems to wear slightly bigger than your typical 5 digit 36 DJ. Can anyone confirm or deny? Would love to hear some opinions.

I love the DJ variants in 36mm, but I’d like to add something that’s a bit less formal looking than they tend to be. Tried on a 114270 and it appeared (to me) to be ever so slightly smaller than 36, although that may have been because I was trying a 39mm exp right next to it.

Compared to 16XXX the whole 116XXX line-up (OP, DJ and DD) are significantly heavier and a bit bulkier. Blue 116000 Oyster Perpetua is a nice watch anyway.

That is the exact one I’m considering. I’m trying to locate one at an AD nearby so I can see it in person. It’s one of the few blue dialed watches I’ve seriously considered purchasing.

I have an early Blue 3-6-9 OP, I also have 2 Explorers 14270 & 114270 (given both to my children) and I must say that the OP36 definitely wears 'bigger' than the Explorers, to the extent that this is now my 'go to' watch out of my whole collection. A genuine 16610 handset was installed (kept the originals in box), as these early models had much thinner hands, giving me problems with legibility.
It's a great watch.

It's a great watch.

I believe this is the best possible OP combo. Besides the new sunburst black dial. With the slim hands it is easy to mix up the seconds with the minutes unfortunately.

The case is more square shaped, where the DJ is more svelte. The added weight of the oyster bracelet is significant over the "vintage" jubilee and makes the entire watch seem a level above. Can't speak for the 6 digit DJ's.

I found an AD today that had an OP 36 that I tried on, although it had a red grape dial and not the blue.... but the bigger look and feel of it vs the 16220 I had on was readily apparent. I can also tell a difference in the weight, with the OP obviously heavier and more solid feeling. Loved it, it is a winner for sure. The hunt is on for a blue one!
