Price Increase - RSC in U.S. on standard service.

Just received a quote back from RSC Dallas, and a standard service has been increased to $750 ($50 increase) as of July 1, 2018. She informed me that this is a “global increase” to be in line with Geneva.

Is there a Rolex timepiece price increase on the horizon? We shall see....

Ouch! Granted, RSC Dallas does a great job. Still, that’s a bit on the steep side for a basic watch service. I wonder what the standard Tudor service will cost, now.

And it's $150 now just to certify a pre-owned watch as 'real' with a 7 day turnaround time if you want a certificate/receipt from an AD stating a watch is genuine.

Yep, we've been using those prices for a few months now (€650 for basic models like DateJust, €700 for professional)

Compared to some other brands still not that bad to have a highly trained watchmaker working on your watch for a few hours.

If you had a quote and service done prior to July 1, they would have honored the old pricing. Did you drop it off on July 2, or pick it up on July 2?

Yeah, don't you love it

Some don't want anybody else to get ahead in life or have a decent lifestyle.
It's all about them and what they want when they want it, and preferably for as little as possible.
But we don't dare talk about limiting their income stream

Seems reasonable.

Service every 5-10 years so let’s say $750 for 7.5 years for $100/yr maintenance cost. Or 1.33% if we use a $7,500 114060 as a baseline.

If it was a $30,000 car that would be $400 per year over 7.5 years. Sounds fine to me for skilled labor.

Just out of interest, how many hours would it take to do a basic Submariner ND service (no parts required)?

Reminds me of the Bugatti Veyron $21,000 oil change story...
