I'll answer your questions, no bother, happy to help.

Which is better? They both do the same thing, so they are equal.
What is the difference? One is white, the other is black, colour is the difference.

I know that

Which one do you prefer? Or which one looks better at day/night?

Just because I couldn’t see one in the shop

Thank you for your reply

Personally, I think I would prefer white, it works better for me with yellow gold than black does. White MOP is lovely..

Black MOP for me. I’ve seen both black and white MOP dials on Rolex and black MOP is more versatile IMO.

As you know, all MOP dials are unique, with some being absolutely gorgeous and others not so much. My friend’s wife had her white dial DJ swapped for a MOP from RSC, as the dials are randomly selected off the shelf, she was unlucky as hers is barely an off-white colour, RSC were uninterested and it really wasn’t worth the couple of hundred pound it cost her at the time.

Conversely, my ex’s MOP DJ is the best MOP I’ve ever seen, truly mesmerising even in low-light.

I would say, like many others I’m sure, have patience and don’t jump in too hastily as there is always another watch. Get the MOP that you’ll love forever, good luck

Both are beautiful but indeed look at the individual dial

Yes the minute I saw this Watch in an AD’s window I knew it was right for me. You will know yourself which is right for you when you see them. The White MOP Diamonds was just my preference

Each MOP dial is different and I have owned the white dial before and liked it. Some of the darker MOP dials are too dark in my opinion but it just depends on the watch.

White mop is the more popular of the two. Black is definitely rarer though. Nicer to have something different maybe.

Let me ask you: When you buy a shirt do you ask others what color they like?

The dial of the watch is what speaks to you, and what you will enjoy looking at each and every time. I would recommend that you see the dials in person and choose the one that speaks to you loudest. No matter what others like or dislike, and what is popular or not, you are the one looking at that dial and enjoying it (or disliking it and wishing it was the other one).

MOP dials are beautiful, but I have never been able to make my wife like them no matter how many examples I showed to her. She considers them outdated and 'grandma' looking dials. I love them myself. So even between my wife and I, which happen to share a lot in our interests, there is night and day difference in what we like in a dial.

I’ve just bought my wife a black mop datejust with diamond markers. We had two black to choose from and as has been mentioned mop can be very different piece to piece.

My wife thought the mop looked unusual and a change from the plain white dial on her first Rolex.

I prefer black mother of pearl but they're both great options.

Nacre is a beautiful material..my personal preference is normally white. The darker shades just don't often shimmer in quite the same way.

As someone else said, it may be more down to the individual piece though due to natural variations

My wife has a white mother of pearl datejust 31 in steel and she loves it. I also prefer the look of the white MOP over the black.

White MOP is by far the most popular. My wife and I both have one. Like others have said, best to see the specific watch in person. While Rolex nearly always does good with mineral watch dial, MOP varies quite a bit.
