Is someone offered me both (and selling them for cash wasn't an option) I'd pick the 5712 without hesitation. The Platinum Daytona has never been a grail piece for me -- the 5712 has been for awhile now. The asymmetry of of the 5712 is probably my favorite illustration of carefully "controlled chaos". It just works, period.

I am not even a Daytona fan but there is no question you buy the Platona at this level.

Glad I don’t have to be in this situation.. I would prefer the daytona with baguette dial over the 5712. But since you already have a daytona I would choose the 5712
