looking to purchase my first rolex

getting close to the big 50, family asked what i would want, always wanted a rolex sub two tone blue, been wanting ever since since i saw my very first one at a shop in the islands many years ago, they said sure!. been lurking here for a bit, reading /research ect. none of the local ad have them, can't even tell me when they would have one, will not take a deposit, basically could not help.
do not want to use ebay, what are your thoughts buying from the gray market or from a private seller, have found a few from both. some are a year old and other a new. ran there names through the site, all of them seem legit. any advise would be helpful

thanks

Two ADs near me have them in their case. Are you in Ocean Gate, NJ?

I would absolutely check out DavidSW or Takuya or OCRolexguy or one of the many trusted sellers on here.. have dealt with a couple of them before and they are extremely professional and easy to deal with. Good Luck!

Let me get this straight, you were told you could have anything for you want for your birthday and the first thing that came to mind was a Rolex???

You, my friend, have a serious sickness.

I hope you do get the watch, but next time go for hooker's and blow.

Even in this market it I've seen plenty of two-tone Subs in the cases. If you want the experience of buying at an AD it shouldn't be that hard to find. Are you calling the ADs or stopping in? There can be a big difference in the responses you get in person vs on the phone.

I would just buy this from an AD. Anything two tone is generally a bit more available and you may even get them to discount.

You are about an hour and thirty minutes away from me and an AD here has one in their case.

If you are serious I'm happy to go down and put a deposit on the watch. When you pick it up they'll refund my deposit to me.

But you'll have to be serious about picking the watch up and they are closed on Sunday.

Sounds like a deal with one of our trusted sellers would be good for you, then. Good luck.

Your story is the exact same as mine. For nearly 30 years I also wanted the two tone blue submariner but other life events prevented it. (house, kids & college costs)

4 months ago I was finally ready to pull the trigger so I stopped by my local dealer to see about buying one and sure enough the dealer was wearing one himself. The problem was, all of a sudden I finally tried one on and felt it was to much bling for me as an everyday watch and I knew it would bring to much attention while wearing it. Dealer said he could easily get me one within a few days.

Long story short, I loved the watch but changed my decision to a GMT BLNR instead. One month later my dealer had it on my wrist. Good luck in getting your long sort after watch, you might get it quicker then you think.

Buy from DAVIDSW here on the boards. I bought mine from him today, I am lucky enough to be in driving distance of his store, but you can completely trust him to ship it. You know what you want, that is half the battle.

I would wait and buy from AD only. TT blue sub is not as popular. I recently saw this watch at my local AD, was seating there for a while and eventually sold. Be patient and you'll rewarded. BTW, beautiful watch was on my top list as well.

It’s not an AD near Harrisburg is it? That’s the other AD I’m aware of that has one.
