Going the indy route is riskier, are they going to replace all the worn parts, will they use genuine Rolex parts, what are their polishing skills? Too many question marks as far as I'm concerned, unless I know a very good watchmaker with excellent reputation and can do the job for half the money, which I don't.

120% agreed. not worth half of the price to go outside of RSC IMO. RSC will provide you with good state of mind that there's nothing wrong been done to your watch. I'll be paranoid otherwise.
