Trade my 372 toward a 1389?
What do you guys think?
My 372 doesn't get much wrist time and the new thinner movement/case has me interested in a Submersible. I really like the look with the ceramic bezel (the Amagentic aspect is just a bonus). And I think it would be cool to have some different colored rubber straps to wear it on. Here's a picture for good measure ...

I like the looks of the newer Submersibles. Panerai has really been pushing them hard on Instagram and in their advertising lately despite the fact that (for the most part) the models aren't "new." I think the slimmer profile makes the 47mm wear easier.
While I would never disparage the 372, it's basically an icon; I like a busier dial on a 47mm Panerai. I think the Submersible brings that. The only major downside to the Submersible line is that it is a little less versatile than the 372. While the 372 is a huge watch, it is more refined. The Submersibles are pure function and utilitarian. |

They are very different...but, sure, why not? Change things up safe with the knowledge that you can easily get another 372 if need be.

If you don’t wear the 372 and you love the 1389, you should make a trade. But the specific trade depends on what price you are paying for the 1389 and what price the dealer is giving you for the 372. I would expect this trade to result in a 5k cash outlay for you. Anything more and you probably aren’t getting the best deal you could be getting...

Thanks for the comments, guys.
The Submersible would get much more wrist time than the 372 (at least initially). Like Ravager135 said, I also like a busier dial on a 47mm Panerai. I really miss the second hand on the 372. I love the shape of the 1950 case but I think Titanium/Ceramic/Sapphire works better for my ideal Panerai style than Steel/Steel/Plexi. I'm going to go try it on again in person this week. We'll see how the numbers shake out. I'll keep you posted.
