Another 183 question..
The 183 is the first manually wound mechanical watch I have owned and just noticed the movement does not stop when you pull the crown out to set the watch, like automatics... Is this common for manually wound movements?
Thanks, James |

I'll defer to the Panerai experts, but it's my understanding the manual winds don't hack?
My 111 doesn't either. It's possible to "self-hack" the movement by very slight backpressure on the crown. It's also been reported this may be hit or miss if the watch is fully wound. (again I'll defer to the experts as to the reasoning) My 111 will not hack if the watch is at full wind. Allow the watch to fully wind down and then give it one or two truns to set the seconds hand in motion. You should be able to hack the movement then. Works on my 111. |

My Manual 177 won't hack. I have not tried different level of power - good tip Mike! Lol-x might find that interesting also.
