Rolex 16610LV lume

Did the 16610LV ever come with blue lume?

it would not shock me as the dials are the same that any dial replacement might be from the 116610LV and hands.

The 16610LV was discontinued around 2008-2009. All models were still Superluminova. There are ceramic models that came with Superluminova including the original 116710LNs. Chromalight came a few years later.

In 2008, Rolex debuted the Chromalight display on the Deepsea Sea-Dweller. Although also a photoluminescent material, this time, rather than green, the Rolex proprietary compound gives off a blue hue in the dark. Furthermore, according to Rolex, Chromalight can last up to eight hours, which is more than double the time of other luminescent materials. Following the Deepsea, Rolex began furnishing other sports watches such as the Submariner, the Daytona, and the GMT-Master with Chromalight rather than SuperLuminova.

While all current Rolex Oyster Professional watches sport the blue Chromalight display, there are some contemporary Rolex watches that still glow with green Superluminova. Interestingly, some modern Migauss and (now discontinued) Datejust II watches include both the blue and green luminescence.

If you’re not sure which lume your Rolex has, the quickest way to tell if your Rolex has SuperLuminova or Chromalight is to simply turn off the light! Regardless of the color, Rolex watches perform perfectly at night and boast a distinct look,

My V serial has green lume & I would say produced near the end of LV production, around 2008-9 with Superluminova.

I should of said Sub Date then to clarify.

Only say this as I've been searching (and found) a hand set for my 14060m. 16610LV hands are out there that are labeled both green and chromalight.

I know 116610 hands are blue.

It never came with Chromalight. However, a dial/handset from a 116610 will fit perfectly. This is my modified 16610LV that had the dial and hands swapped with a 116610. Note the bezel pearl on the aluminum insert is still green luminova

Turned out a friend of mine was offered one with a presumably fake dial, fake bezel and fake hands.

He checked the serial with his AD, and AD confirmed it to have left the factory as a 16610.

So be careful.
