Can one of my Rolie friends please settle an argument?

How heavy in grams is a Rolex president Day-Date in solid 18k gold, the whole watch, not specific parts?

Please Please reply asap as I want to prove my smug co-workers wrong!!!

My 1991 "N" DD weighs 136 grams with all the standard links. The new model (after about 2000, 'K' series) weighs about 35% more and someone will probably chime in on a weight for that model. My guess (136 X 1.35 = 283.6) would be 183.6 grams.

Some info from a previous Forum thread.

Mort, here are some of the updates introduced in 2000 with the "K" Series model 118238.

-Solid center links and end links (overall 35% heavier then 18238 models)
-Re-designed "End Links" that fit completely flush against case
-Polished lugs (Sides of the links are polished)
-Completely polished case (18238 was polished on sides and brushed on top)
-Slightly domed sapphire crystal
-All gold (no lume stripe) hands were introduced
-LEC (Laser Etched Crown) introduced
-Updated Diamond dial w/"Pyramid" style settings
-Lume added to "sticks" (hour markers) on the stick dial

Since the major upgrades in 2000, there have been a few more updates:
-Updated Clasp in 2003 "F" Series
-Chapter Ring in 2006 "Z" Series

How much does a WG Daytona weigh in comparison? I imagine the larger case will make quite a difference...?

Probably an old post - before you edumacated us James.

It could be that the '35% heavier' referred to the bracelet only in which case the new YG DD might be lighter than the 183 grams. 183 grams sounds pretty heavy to me and when I tried a new DD on a few months ago it didn't feel much different to mine.
