Hate it or Love it......MOP!!!
What is the general opinion of the MOP. (Mother of Pearl)
Granted its more expensive and you wont get your money back when you sell but do you like the look of it?? Any pics?? I seen a yachtmaster on here which was MOP and really liked it! Also seen a tt datejust black mop with diamond dial though it was very classy |

i love it on certain models. The black looks great on white gold DJ, and the white looks killer on almost anything yellow gold.

I like the look of it - the YM posyed here often looks great. I'm not sure I would buy for myself as my primary watch because it is very dressy and can be more difficult to read (compared to black). I think it crosses the line from sports watch to jewelry very quickly.

I bought MOP for GFs watch, don't think I'd wear it in other than the darker grey shade.

They're a little flashy but a TT DJ MOP is on my list of watches to acquire as I dive for Abalone. I like the idea of part of a shell on my wrist. I won't wear it everyday but I'll probably trade it off with my DD as my dress watch.

For me, it depends on the watch. I wore a Breitling with a white MOP dial for about two years and loved it; sold it later because the size was a bit small.
I contemplated a white MOP DJ but found the tone too iridescent for my liking - so opted for the classic white instead. I prefer a subtle MOP....and white is my preference. |

My SS Daytona with a MOP and diamond dial.
I love the white MOP dials but I do not like the darker MOP dials (Tahitian MOP) as I find them almost impossible to read. |

I have the MOP dial with diamond and blue sapphire markers on a TT YM. It is both sporty and dressy at the same time and was my only watch at one time. I still love it.

MOP is not a look I particularly like, so I wouldn't buy it for myself. But if you like it, you should indulge yourself.

I personally wouldn't wear it, because I think it looks more suitable on a ladies watch. And on a watch for a lady, I think it looks nice. Definitely not on a sports watch, tho.

I'm not a big fan...but I will report that my wife fell in love w/ the black MOP on the TT YM. First, I learn I'm going to drop more $ than expected because she wants the TT over the SS, then she sees the black MOP and can't stop talking about it! Next thing you know she's going to want to add diamonds...

My aunt just bought a 31mm DJ with MOP and diamond dial, beautiful.

Perhaps this will convert her. Time to break out the wallet and make it an easy transition for her.
