You can self regulate... to gain a few seconds lay the watch face up overnight, to lose a few lay the watch vertically with the crown downwards overnight.

The OP states the accuracy is not the main issue.
The problem is he is comparing the watch on a minute level with other watches in his collection.
And no two watches are the same when viewed through a microscope.

This is perfect example where to much knowledge interferes with the enjoyment of owning a watch, or a car ect ect !
