I was going through a bunch or YouTube Rolex videos and it seems Rolex is turning off parts to independent watchmakers. Is this true?

Yes. Rolex kept their parts wholesalers, at least in the US. I verified with several local non-AD watch repair shops. However, not every watch repair shop has access to Rolex parts. The Rolex parts wholesalers are selective. It’s a buddy system.

You'd have to have a relationship with Rolex to keep your parts account as an independent. Usually that comes withe time and shows your watchmaker has been around the block regarding Rolex.
