Little advice needed. Please thanknyou!

Hi guys I recently took my Rolex 16014 and my as of now late 2531.80 into Ben bridge for a cleaning. A cleaning in there case is removal of caseback movement I’m assuming bezel and crystal and put the pieces into an ultrasonic cleaner and then put it back together. I noticed there is some damage and debris under the dial now and on the case itself and the watch is running around -30 now. I found out this particular location is not an RSC but Ben bridge is. I contacted corporate and they want me to take it back in so it can be shipped to the RSC in Seattle. My issue is I have a newer style super jubilee on the 85’ 16014. Do I just send the head in or the send it in as is. Rolex can not force me to purchase a correct bracelet right?

There are two Rolex owned RSC in the US; Dallas and New York. The rest are locals who service Rolex. Obviously, service quality will vary. No independent cares about your bracelet. Rolex doesn't care as long as your bracelet is authentic Rolex.

An authorized RSC will not service a watch unless it has a bracelet, and a correct one. You can't just send in the head for service. The exception would be if you said you lost the bracelet, and then you'd be forced to purchase a new one.

A bracelet is considered a consumable and as long as it is genuine Rolex they will accept it. An old watch with a new bracelet is no sin to Rolex. :)

Yes, agreed. But you can't send in/take in just the watch head. I actually tried that years ago, before the current vintage insanity.

What happens if you just send in the head?

They'd probably just send it back or call and tell you you'd need to buy a new bracelet before service.

Put the watch on a strap and I am sure they would service it as is. Perhaps it differs between RSCs but I would be surprised if they didn’t service anything without the original brscelet. I would be surprised if Rolex even knew if a watch was sold on strap or bracelet as this was often decided in the shop at the time of purchase.
