Interesting visit with an AD...

While the wife was doing some Christmas shopping today, I wandered in to one of the local ADs to do some Christmas wishing. The sales lady was very cordial and appeared to be fairly knowledgeable about the Rolexes in the case.

After looking at several Rolexes ( I'm partial to the DJ's and DD's ) she asked if I would be interested in a green Milgauss. I told her I wasn't interested and none of the Milgauss watches appealed to me. She smiled with a subtle laugh and said they had a green Milgauss they can't give away. I inquired what she meant and she replied that they had called several customers once they obtained the watch and no one is interested. I asked why and she didn't know other than to say that a couple they called had expressed interest in that particular watch but evidently changed their mind.

Which brings a question to mind. Is the green Milgauss not that much in demand anymore or has the economy slowed customers buying Rolexes in general?

I also noticed that they did not have any open spaces in their Rolex display. Don't know if this is an indication they are not selling or the AD has enough stock to fill the spaces as they sell.

I've seen the same thing here locally in Vegas. I have heard how tough it was to find a ss daytona, but in my experience that's not true. Just picked up a ss daytona yesterday. I think the global economy has really put a crimp in hi end, non necesarry items.
