Thinking about flipping a DD
I picked up my wife's DJ from the shop last night and the owner and I started chatting about the watches he had for sale. I noticed he had a gold DD in the case and he told me in was brand new. I asked the price and he said it was 50% off. I guess the guy who it belonged to got it as a retirement gift, but did not want it. So he donated it to a charity here in town that asked Mark to sell it. He decided to sell it for $9925 and donate that to the charity.
Should I go for it? It was purchased 5/08 at our local AD. |

Which model is that? 118238? If this is a 2008 Day Date, that is a fantastic price (given that the watch is in mint condition), current market price for that model is 13-17k!

Are you sure about the purchase date, must have been in inventory a long time. DD's are the worst for depreciation. Price is high, but its all up to you.

Don't feel too bad as an 'A' could have the old bracelet style and that price in the current climate is good but not surprising. Some would say it's overdue for a service.

That was a great price indeed. But I guess it was never meant to be. Another will come along. Thanks for sharing.
