Got offered the Skydweller SS white dial in UAE

I’m visiting the Middle East with the family. I had a chat with a salesperson at an AD and it turned out to be a very long chat.

He then asked me if I would be offered a skydweller, when we were at the topic of the skydweller, if I would take it.

I said yes. He goes back and returns with a white dial stainless steel skydweller. What a beautiful peace of it is indeed.

I do like it but am not sure if it is really scarce. I know about the scarcity of the blue dial but not sure if the white dial is also so hard to get.

What are your views ? Should I get it straight away because I may not get one offered so soon or should I just wait and purchase it whenever I really want it ? Because it is very easy to get ?

Not sure what watches you have in your collection, but based on the two listed by your username, I personally think the white sky dweller would complement those two extremely well. I think the white dial is stunning. As to its scarcity, I can’t speak to that, hopefully others will chime in on that. Not sure what my next Rolex will be, but the sky dweller is on a very short list, and the white dial to me is both elegant and sporty and very versatile. Good luck with your decision.

Dr, before seeing all the colours in person, I liked the black over the blue over the white.

However on trying them all on, my favourite was the white, then black then blue. The white appeared more ivory to me but gave the cleanest look.

I wouldn't get too hung up on what is popular on this forum. I don't like the BLNR enough to add to my collection of eight Rolexes.

If you like the white dial as you told the salesperson, you should buy it. Buy the watch because you like it, not because it’s perceived rarity. The Skydweller in stainless steel is an amazing watch for the money regardless of dial color. All dial colors are difficult to get right now, but white seems to be the most available of the three dial colors.

Don't be carried out by the hype generated by scarcity, it will always lead to impulse buying.

I was exactly in same situation back in May and despite liking it very much, I still preferred the blue and didn't pull the trigger on the white. As for it being scarce, I am not sure but from grey market pricing, they don't command big premium which is a clear indication that they are not that scarce.

Few photos I took while trying it.

I don't want to buy a watch based on perceived scarcity or potential for marginal profit on reselling. There are better ways for me to invest or park my money.

I do love my Sky-Dweller, however. My AD got me a black dial in stainless steel, which was my favorite of the three. If I buy a watch, that means I really like it and that's the only way it will make me happy.

OP, Why should scarcity matter to you? If you like the watch, buy it. If you don’t, then pass on it. It’s decisions like yours that have lead to this shortage. If people simply bought watches that they liked, we probably would not have the shortage

Is this the only reason you want to own a Rolex watch?

Get the white dial, enjoy it and some day, when you send it in for service, change the dial to blue and you will have owned both colors.

I like the white best. But if you want blue, wait until one’s available.

Agree with the others, If you like the white dial SKyD, buy it and enjoy it! Who can predict how easy/difficult it will be to obtain later so why worry over it when its in front of you. On top of that, you told the salesperson you would
