1680 white watch only or 116520 black full set

Dear all,

If both watches are in good condition, with 1680 all original parts, unpolished, which is the watch you will keep?

Depends what you mean "unpolished" but probably the 1680. You can always find a nice 116520 in SG ;)

1680. Mostly because that's my least favorite Daytona reference by a mile.

1680, not a contest for me.

Will it change the equation if I already have a 14060M?

I love the sweet patina on the 1680 but Daytona is really a different beast all together.

Well then that would leave you with two no date watches. 1680 pairs nicely with the 14060.

I'd be going down the 116520 Daytona route.

Then I would get rid of the 14060M and keep the 1680 and 116520!

Depends on what you are looking for, those two watches are quite different, are you looking for vintage? Quality? Future value?
The 1680 in good condition is now harder to get than a modern Daytona.
I would go for the 1680 first if it is mint, you can always find a 116520 later on , they are not hard to find.
Good luck and let us know your final decision.

In a more modern and general sub section, I am pretty surprised at the support for the 1680 white, which has always been less well liked compared to 5513/2 and 1675.

However as 14060M is my 1st ever Rolex and I purchased it myself at the AD, don't think I will let it go.

Thanks guys!

well if you keep the 14060, I would pair it with the Daytona, and unfortunately let the 1680 go.
