Why are you over winding in the first place?

Around 40 full crown turns clockwise only will fully wind the mainspring once its fully wound it just slips in the spring barrel, just like it would do while on the wrist so you cannot overwind. The noise you are hearing or feeling is just the mainspring slipping in the spring-barrel .

It’s the internet. People like to bust balls on the internet. Even on civilized forums like this one. One should have thick skin when posting on forums, in my humble opinion. Don’t sweat the small stuff.

It's likely that one will ever own two watches in any collection that feel exactly the same when manual winding.
This can also be variable depending upon how close the watch is to needing a service.

It's not possible to overwind an Automatic watch.
And manual winding is optional on a modern Rolex watch unless there is an auto winding problem with the watch, or one is somewhat inactive.

You can't overwind it, because if you could, an automatic watch would overwind itself. Listen closely when you wind it and you might notice a tick sound when you get to full wind when the clutch slips.

If you've ever wound a manual watch, you know when to stop winding.
