My London Shops Report
Hi, spent the past few days in London and searched every Rolex store in proximity including Harrods & Selfridges.
Each store contained mostly datejust pieces in two tone. I was able to locate two yachtmaster40 blue dials 8900£ (watches of switzerland & selfridges) as well as two tone GMTs. great price with the conversion and VAT. Harrods did have a WG daytona in the case. For the sake of it, I passed by Watchfinder and saw a batman and and hulk. They were asking 10600£ for the Hulk (2 years old). Also note, passed by Harrods Tudor to see if they had a harrods black bay. I was told - min 1 year wait with 1000 people on the list :P Just wanted to share in case others were looking.

Canary Wharf is a decent place to shop. They seem to have a pretty good allocation if you want to get on a list and sometimes have more interesting pieces in.
Central London / Bond Street, right by Chelsea is a very tricky area. Massive money and a lot of preferential treatment. Things certainly don’t sit for long there. |

London is a huge no go at the moment, Watchfinder are currently asking £20K for a stickered white dial ceramic daytona, the world has gone mad

It seems your report is pretty accurate. A common mistake people make is to head to central London or the business district. Recently i was trying to source a specific datejust 41. I very quickly realised that i was trying all the common ADs, which had 1 or non in stock. I ventured out of central london and managed to source one from a AD who had 7 datejust 41 in stock in various combinations, another AD had 3 in stock.

Thanks for the report, it is useful to know. My local ADs have a far better selection and i'm not that far away from London.

I think its your luck... and ADs tend not to sell the most wanted S/S models to tourists!! You might get lucky 'outside' London, but no chance of finding something sitting in a window!
The Harrods Tudor - this list is now officially closed, no more names being taken... that probably means they are coming to an end. |

Interesting, I was there on Monday and they had one sitting in the case. I thought it was odd given the alleged demand.

Indeed depends how much you want one I guess. I only had to wait 2 months for mine which magically appeared after making comment on here about it. Literally same day!

It was there when I was in London last month, I asked to purchase and was told "Its already sold, the buyer agreed to leave it so others may see it."
Complete BS, they shouldnt have it in the case if its sold. I was also told a year wait list. |

If I'm the managing director of Harrod's, I'm GOING to get one of those for myself. Probably get one for everyone above vice president. I would probably let one of ours sit in the display case for a while to generate buzz.

Bluewater, outside London on the Thames, had a good selection today. Several ym's, explorer 2, air king and Milgauss all SS.
