Was at a neighborhood Xmas party several years ago. One of my neighbors who I didn't converse with very often seen me wearing a 16600 SD. He approached and proceeded to ask me how often I wear it. At the time, it was one of two pieces I had in the collection. When I told him 3 - 4 days per week, he almost came unglued. Explained to me that he had an Polar Explorer II he bought on vacation a few years ago. Keeps it in his safe and only brings it out on special occasions. When I tried to tell him it's "just a watch, wear it and enjoy it" he just could not wrap his head around that. It was "too precious" to him. He moved not too long after, and I have no idea if he ever changed his wearing habits. Shame, really!

100% true. Just with these 2 cant bring myself to wear them daily.

Honest question.

The enjoyment is in owning them and when i wear them occasionally it really does feel more special. Very hard to describe. It’s like I finally have this watch & when I look at it and it looks so crisp I feel happy. Hard to explain.

A ship is always safest in a harbor but that's not what ships are built for. That being said and with your insistence on keeping watches pristine, I think the only choice you have to purchasing a used watch with some wear in your price range that you're not afraid to wear............like a watch. Only you know your style and what you like. I'm assuming you're looking for a sport watch since you'll be wearing it daily so I'd go with an old sub, maybe an Omega PO in titanium, etc. Unlike most, I'm not a fan of scratches, but I don't like scratches on my vehicle either, but I purchased it to drive, not sit in my garage.

Correct I most definitely am not a fan of scratches. I agree. If i do buy a watch with some wear on it then I would most definitely be inclined to wear it daily and not have any heart ache when it acquires more wear over time.
