Warranty/Guarantee Question
Hey Folks,
If I buy a 2018 Rolex watch from someone other than an AD, will Rolex honor the warranty? The watch has the warranty card and papers. So...worst case scenario...something breaks mechanically with the watch. I contact Rolex and send it off to the RSC in Dallas. Will they work on the watch under the factory warranty? The serial number on the card matches the watch. My name is not on the card. I've aways bought my Rolexes pre-owned. |

It depends on if the warranty was originally sold by an AD to a consumer, and that AD activated the warranty, put their name on the card, and also put the consumer's name on it. If so, then technically you have a pre-owned watch, even if it is unworn, and Rolex will honor the warranty.

Warranty is transferable. RSC only recognises the serial numbers in the watch and the card are the same.
Btw, Rolex watches don’t have any problem within 5 years unless there’s accident Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks folks...I'll know more about the watch in question today. It's one of the watches sold by WatchguyNYC. The watch is BNIB with the matching warranty card. I'll be getting more info later today.
I appreciate the guidance. |

If the original transaction at the AD was done properly, if the watch was never reported “stolen” before, and if you get the card during the transaction, then you should have an intact warranty to fall back on.
WatchguyNYC is a N.Y. diamond district seller and if you’re doing the deal remotely be sure to get everything in writing in simple English. Not besmirching them, just that you want to be sure everything is documented if anything goes amiss in the deal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Not true. I bought my wife a pre-owned DJ2 and although it was keeping good time, it was rough winding. Took it to local AD who sent to RSC who gave it a full warranty service.
Unfortunately Rolex can have issues within the 5year warranty period, but they will honour the warranty as long as you have the card. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk |
