At least the AD is being honest - they don't sell best watches to the public, only to grey dealers. Makes you wonder why tgey bother to have a shop

I'm surprised there are 2 pages of VIP (grey dealers perhaps??) who spend £120k to £200k annually. Is that A8 size or just post-it note?

Also surprised that these whales still do not have a 500c by now given their spending.

I get it, and don't blame the AD. But it's a mass produced watch brand. It's not something anointed by a higher power. I'd buy an Omega, or whatever other brand suits me. My loyalty to Rolex is equal to Rolex's loyalty towards me.

I went to an AD I'd never been to a few days ago and had my D500 on, and the lady asked me where I got it and she said something like "oh you must be a VVIP there" (I am not).

I was about to say...

Money buys power, one of the main reasons to have it.

Out of town AD honors the waiting list regardless. Now that I have a good purchase history, a tiny bit of me wishes that it wasn't the case. On the other hand, MANY of the people who are on the waiting list either don't have the money laying around (months or sometimes a year later) or loose interest for something else, the day they get the call.

In town AD, gives priority to purchase history (which I understand) but it's also a catch-22 as far as getting started if you only want Rolex.

I have never heard of this practice thanks for letting the forum know. Now I’ll be on the lookout for these VIP customers in the future especially if they’re the ones getting BLROs.
