Finally got around to changing from the leather to the NATO on my Black Bay Bronze Bucherer Blue and it didn't go as well as I was hoping. I used a pusher but as I was pulling the strap up the the spring bar pin slid and made a bit of damage. For the other side I used some scotch tape over the lugs and it went better. I did some internet searches and it appears people recommend using making tape and even electrical tape.

For those of you that change straps frequently, do you have any tricks? The leather on the Black bay is very thick so I think one has to use the lug holes. The NATO is soft so a spring bar tool is easy to get in.

Yes all watches will scratch behind the lugs ther nature of changing straps or put electrical tape

Its quite easy after a while a watch with lug holes should be a breeze. The plastic card is for putting them back in again, missing is some electrical tape. Just take your time.

On a bb bronze, it’s tough with the fact band.

I soak my watch overnight to soften the leather when I swapped.

Fwiw I went back the fact band anyway.

Tape helps but not necessary if you're careful. I always use a plain old pocket knife to take off leather straps.

always always tape off your lugs. Masking tape will do the trick

And, I found some Mylar Tape that Works Great. This tape is Real Thin, but nearly impossible to puncture.

Horotec or Regine tweezers is what you need. Bergeron 7825 is also a solution but a bit more expensive. Good luck.

I just ordered the burgeon 7825 it was under 200.00 but shoot I did a bulk bet on my lvc trying with the smaller single tools like above. I need to try the tape next time

I use blue painters tape. Works really well and offers lots of protection.

Kapton tape is what professionals use. Amber color translucent tape for polishing.
