For a while now I had been considering to consolidate because I just didn't get the enjoyment one would imagine owning multiple pieces. As a consequence it meant some pieces, although nice in their own right, didn't feel special enough to me. So I decided to take it right down to one steel and one PM with the PM being something I can wear daily. I had decided on a Smurf until the call from the AD that said they had a couple of watches I could have. That's when I saw the 116519 and although initially not overly convinced on the OF, the dial, weight, comfort and utility of the watch is beautiful. A perfect daily that flies under the radar but is special enough not to be seen in the wild.

But as a consequence I sold Hulk, black GMT and in the process of thinking I also need to let the BB58 go too. A steel 116500 white dial and the WG 116519 seem special enough for me for steel and PM options. Time will tell whether or not I made the right decision...

I totally understand Len. First off, those are stunning pieces! You can never go wrong with either of those watches. They hold their value and you’re right, they are both extremely exclusive. I too have several pieces and I find the thought of only two watches quite liberating. Time will tell, but I feel that you hit it out of the park with both of those references. As you all say in the UK, Cheers mate

Thank you sir! And thank you all for the kind words. Certainly helps me feel like I’ve made the right decision. At the moment, it feels like it.

I was in a very similar situation. I too traded my Hulk and was looking at the Smurf too. I'm sure I could get used to it but the Smurf was so heavy! I also wanted to try out the Oysterflex and have something without smudges on it all the time!
