I have what would be considered 21 high end watches. Over half of those are Rolex. Only two of those get the most wrist time. A ceramic GMT and a DJ2. I make a point of wearing most of them at some point and they all get wound from time to time. A few are still stickered and have never been worn.
I’ve realised that some of what I have I won’t keep indefinatly, some I will. But collecting these wonderful timepieces has also made me realise what I really like and what I don’t. I’ve also started appreciating certain references that I wouldn’t have given a second look when I started this hobby which now I really appreciate. In the next few years I expect to have a ‘cull’ of sorts and distill the collection. I certainly won’t be spending the same amount of money I’ve spent to get to this point but I see one maybe two all PM pieces in my future at some point. So, No, I don’t regularly wear all I possess. For most of my life I’ve been a one watch guy. I hope to return to that one day but keep a couple back to pass down when I’m gone. |
