Difference between DJ, DJII and DJ41?
Whats the difference between DJ, DJII and DJ41?
Specially DJII and DJ41? I was under the impression that all new DateJusts are DJIIs... some info on this will be highly appreciated. Thanks |

The DJII was phased out and now the DJ41 is the current model of the 'large' size DJ. There are DJs in several other smaller sized. The DJ41 incorporated the new 32xx movement from the older 31XX movement. That had several improvements, the biggest is a 70 hr power reserve. The case was slimmed down a little, the dial sticks also went on a diet, the bezel was refined, the jubilee bracelet was added with the EZ Link clasp.

I’m not an DJ expert but
DJ is the original and came in 36mm or less. Still in production DJII is 41mm with maxi case, Lugs, markers, etc (discontinued) DJ41 is 41mm but all the proportions have been slimmed down vs DJII. DJ41 has new 70hr movement Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The DJ41 isn’t actually 41mm. It’s smaller. The DJ2 is a true 41mm watch. (41.2mm I think).
DJ2 a generally more sporty looking reference but was replaced by the DJ41 which pulled the proportions more in line to the traditional DJ36. |

I have to laugh when Rolex downsizes the datejust from 41mm to 39.5mm and decides to name it the "Datejust 41"
Why they lie about the diameter I have no idea. Clearly it is below 40mm by every case measurement I have ever seen, yet it is advertised by name and in their site as a 41mm. Just odd.... I'll keep my true 41mm DJII thank you! Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge using Tapatalk |

Difference between DJ, DJII and DJ41?

But it’s no different from the Daytona, being much smaller than 40mm. That’s Rolex marketing for you! There was an image of a calliper reading of 39.5 against a DJ41 floating around this forum a while back but you can clearly see its incorrectly angled on the case itself. If you measure the case, properly at an equal half point either side, you’ll get more 40mmish with the DJ41. Why Rolex didn’t just leave the DJ as a 36 I really don’t know, or at least a 38mm instead if they wanted a larger version. |
