Would somebody counterfeit such a rare watch?
Just bought my dream Rolex (GMT) – next on my list is the Ulysse Nardin Camo Maxi-Marine Diver. Only 50 every made. I have seen a couple come up and eBay, and the bidding stops under $5K, meaning it is not very popular, so I can afford it.
I found this one on ebay – and it is very fishy. I’m not going to bid on it. The picture sucks, no seller history of selling watches, and won’t respond to my questions about the watch. And the strap is just dead wrong (supposed to be brown rubber). I have no proof this is fake, but do counterfeiters really rip off watches that only 50 where made of? Seems like such a unique watch, that nobody is going to take the time to rip it off. I included a picture of what it should look like, from a legit auction awhile ago. And the ONLY picture this suspect auction provides. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&it em=140291664199 Thanks. |

Either he's got the watch pictured on 2 different bands (brown rubber on the right) or he's posting pictures of different watches.

the picture on the left is from ebay auction I am referring to.
the one in the middle, and the one on the right are legit pictures of the watch I got elsewhere. It should come with a brown rubber strap. |

A few more pics on the auction now - including some of the rubber strap.

It looks good - and may be a good deal, as the seller did not put 'ulysse' in the title. If I ever look for a Ulysse Nardin, I always type in both words. I look for new ones every day as I am a collector, and this one has slipped my searches... Best of luck with it!

Greg would probably know this as he is into more watches than Rolex. But isn't it a bit odd that the items this seller has sold shows private so you don't know what was sold?
More pictures, a solid phone number always helps me ease any pain. get a number, look them up on 411.com and see if they are who they say they are. Jim |

thanks for the advice everyone - I have emailed the seller now and feel a little safer about it.
I think since I just bought a rolex last week, my wife will kill me if I buy another this week. So I'm going to have to wait for the next one to pop up somewhere. |

Looks like a good jungle watch for a safari.
