NATO on Datejust... don’t hate just yet

So I feel like I’ve seen/heard of doing this as being somewhat of a cardinal sin. That being said, I think the new style Datejust with its slimmer and somewhat sportier profile just makes the mark on pulling this off. I didn’t invest too much in this strap ($5) and currently it’s just a novelty for me. That being said, what are your honest thoughts?

Honestly, and just my own opinion, I think it takes away from the overall look. I am biased on sticking with the bracelet for this piece.

This reminds me of a nice luxury car riding on space saver wheels.

It's a watch for which you paid a substantial sum. Dress it up and have fun with it.

That said, I've got meself a small vial of "hate" on a shelf in the office. I will await your clearance for its release.

I personally prefer the feel and look of a bracelet over a NATO. If you're enjoying your beautiful DJ this way, I would say leave it and continue to enjoy. I guess if I can have a little input on the NATO strap itself tho......Maybe a grey with white stripes or a complete grey one would go better with your dial? I think the black may be a little "strong" here?

Nice DJ though. I love that dial!

I once met a Doc who sported a DJ on a NATO and it looked alright, but it was a smooth bezel variant and the band was a solid color, so slightly different look.

The 30 year old jubilee is getting overhauled. I actually like the nato on the 16030. Gives it a field watch vibe

I do believe a nato will look good on it, but not that nato. It does not match it.

SS model with a smooth bezel, I would consider it. Other than that, I don't think so.

Not that NATO. Maybe a nice, high quality thin leather one. But I’d leave it on the bracelet if it’s my watch. Since it isn’t- do it to it!

A 36mm DJ works great on a nice leather strap. Beyond that? Bracelet.

I don’t even care for natos on subs or any sports watch for that matter, it’s a big no from neon a DJ.
