Changing a GMT 11 bezel?

Hi

I currently have a sub no date and have been looking to get a date s/s with some colour. I like the BLRO but not so much the jubilee and it will be hard to get. I have been considering getting a black GMT 11 LN and changing the bezel to a pepsi one by the ad.

Is this a good idea and will it reduce the value if i ever decide to sell? Also the GMT hand is green will this clash with a pepsi bezel?

Dont hear of many people doing this, unsure if there is a reason why?

Thanks

I hear that removing the bezel is very difficult. This was much easier to do on the 5 digit models (many videos on YouTube).

I have yet to see how the bezel can be removed on the 6 digit model.

Not an option like the 5 digit models.

There was a post a few months ago but a lot of the comments focused on the green hand and text clashing with a Pepsi bezel.

If you’re interested there is also a 116710LN with an aftermarket Pepsi bezel for you to check out if you like but in my opinion it is not a good combo.

As far as resale I won’t comment but maybe someone with experience could chime in.

Thanks sounds like a no go. What do people think about this old pepsi which came with a black bezel but was changed to the pepsi? There are also many similar on chrono24 around the same price or cheaper

That particular 16710 is decently priced (for today's market). Some cons would be the non-sel endlinks so the bracelet would be a little more "rattely" of that is important to you. It is a bit worn, but for a beater watch the price is right. But you gotta decide if you trust the seller on this one. A worn 5 digit for almost as much as a new 6 digit ln? Is the case shape and ability to swap bezels worth it to you?

I think the green hand and text on dial will stand out with Pepsi bezel. I'd rather get Pepsi and an Oyster bracelet if you really want the Pepsi. Although with market the way it is today you will pay a lot.

Thanks, you’re right i would rather get a new one at list price like i did my sub nd last year. I have just had an idea, i could try getting a new blro and put my sub nd bracelet on that and stick a nato on the sub..?! As the jubilee bracelet on the blro really looks horrible imo

Well, just getting a BLRO is a nearly insurmountable challenge unless you have 16k lying around, so the bracelet issue is kinda secondary :)

Not sure the sub bracelet will fit, but I'm sure someone has tried it. Though the jubilee with Pepsi bezel is the "across the room" hallmark signature of the watch, so I doubt many would do it.
