My First Rolex - An Update in Ownership!

I bought my 116613LB2 2 weeks ago and I've not taken it off other than to shower and sleep...
I'm absolutely blown away with it... it is amazing in every single way. A joy to wear as the glide lock clasp makes it so comfortable... I do find myself altering it a few times a day.

The clasp was originally quite stiff but it has now loosened up and works exceptionally well. I smile every-time I look at it! And although there are other watches I like... I can't see myself parting with it anytime soon. Which is a new one for me as I am quite the flipper!
I am and have been quite interested in the new Omega Seamaster + The Grand Seiko Snowflake for quite a while now. Which I could have both for the price of this watch and some change... tempting. But I don't want to do that. This watch is too beautiful. It really feels like a Rolex... (I know that's a silly thing to say) but it feels very special to wear and I get to wear it everyday!

As for timekeeping... the best I've ever owned. The watch over the last 2 weeks is running at the exact time I set it... I've been tracking it on my phone with an app... and it's gained 0.00 seconds. I mean you can't get any better than that! Long may that last!
My first Rolex purchase and hopefully I keep it forever! It was even cheap to insure... €60 ($70 ish).

I'm with you......No way would I trade that beauty in on the Omega and GS either. The Bluesy is a stunning watch and if I ever get one in the future, I will hang onto it forever. Glad to hear that you're enjoying the watch so much. That's what this hobby is all about!

Great pics too btw!

That’s what this is all about. I’m so happy you absolutely love your new watch. It certainly is a beauty and a classic. My father has the five digit version which I will inherit when he passes, but this is one reference that hands down the new model (6 digit reference) is better then the old one. Congratulations on the new purchase.

Congratulations. I've had one since last November. It is very difficult to take off.

Yes I am certainly getting that impression! It's a hard watch to take off and I smile every time I look down at my wrist at it! In fact I think its a bit of a danger to myself whilst driving haha

Yeah I too think the newer reference looks better, but I am biased. Either way once that day comes (I hope not too soon) you will have a beautiful blue watch in your collection that will remind you of your father, so super special!

Thank you guys for the kind words! And I spoke too soon... my watch today... has just gained 1 second.... meaning it gains 0.1134 seconds a day... sneaky watch!
Most of all I'm super happy that I haven't regretted my purchase. It's a lot of money to spend on a watch... and I don't think you can really know if the watch is for you until you've had it a few days... and lucky for me... it clicks. Other watches have not!
I am very lucky that this one just feels right, feels special!

That is one of the nicest looking two tone watches ever made, by any company - bar none! My former boss had one, and before that I had never seen it in real life. When I did, I gained a new respect for it. A beautiful watch like that, if it is what you really want and appreciate, is better than having two or three others which are not as loved.

Congratulations!

Cheers,
Carl

I think you've answered your own question!! There's no way I'd make that trade.

Thats my buddies favourite watch from his collection, and understandably so. I sometimes think pictures dont do this watch enough justice when compared in real life.
