NOS 5 digit YM? Thoughts

Have a chance to buy an NOS TT YM 5 digit. I really love this with the champagne dial and the gold bezel. Very comfortable watch and the gold dial with the gold bezel give me the look of a larger watch with the comfort of something smaller.

Aside from the clasp, are there many differences between the 5 and 6 digits? Bracelets the same?

They have likely had this in the case for at least 5 years. Any thoughts on what a reasonable price to pay would be?

Thanks!

What are they asking for it?

Bracelets on the 5 digits have hollow center links. 6 digits are solid.

I would not pay retail for that they sell pre owned for 8k.

My 5 digit YM has a solid bracelet and solid end links and afaik all 5 digit YM are like that. Unlike the Subs and GMTs with their rattle bracelets
The only way the bracelet differs are the thin sleeves over the screw pins.

The bracelet end links on the 5 digit are more protruding and the font on the bezel of the 6 digit is more fine.

The case end links are less curvy on the 6 digit, the 6 digit wears a little bigger.

All compared the winner is the 5 digit imho. Did not like the old clasp so I bought a modern DJ clasp.

5 yrs in a case ... I'd assume it would need to be checked over at least, and serviced at best.

I also would not pay retail on it and would expect a good discount. NOS or not.

Edit:

Forgot to add, that is a beautiful watch, love the combination.

Wow, that YM is really stunning. You should get at least 20% off, might need a service considering it must have been made 7 years ago or more.

NOS is not something I would pay a premium for if I was going to wear the watch. The YM is not a desirable watch in the broader Rolex market and TT is even less so. Go to Chrono24 and see what it tells you. I like the new blue YM and have owned one in YG before. I doubt I will ever circle back around with so many other options out there.

Beauty. For me, the only negative is the clasp...I just can't do the 5 digit clasp. It's a total war stopper in looks and lack of adjustability. Of course, that's strictly my opinion.

I echo William's thoughts above about paying a premium for a watch you're going to wear. Good luck,

Always liked the looks of this model. I like TT watches. Had similar but with a black MOP dial back in the mid 90's if I remember correctly. Very comfortable watch, sub like but a little dressier, solid links and smoother case. Only issue I had with a couple YM's was the bezel and polished surfaces were scratch magnets. Kind of drove me nuts. Sad because I really like the model.

Thanks for this I didn't know that, all I could see were the SELs. Just assumed it was like all the other 5 digit bracelets.

The bezel is proven to have durability issues. Definitely don't like this particular model in TT. Worth doing research on how hard it is to keep the bezel looking good over time.

Definitely don’t pay msrp. Offer 30% off & settle no less than 25%. Keep in mind there’s a reason it hasn’t sold; this is a direct reflection to mkt value. Just my advice. Sending well wishes for an awesome deal.

Pre-owned are fetching $10K so you won’t be seeing 20-30% off.

IMHO you’ll be fortunate if an $11K offer gets accepted.
