Rolex GMT II Batman question
Does anyone know where I can find a new Batman for a somewhat reasonable price. Just can’t justify spending 5k over list.

Gonna need pure luck or become a buyer at an AD. Buy a couple items and maybe they have one or it’s not that long of a wait once they realize you want to build a relationship with them.

Only way to get one at MSRP is to be on a list at an AD. Sadly, this is the state of things with many SS references, especially the BLNR.

you can't. You may get an anecdotal story of someone walking in and getting one, but for all practical purposes impossible unless you have a solid AD relationship already

It’s not like we are holding out on a few watches at msrp. Paying up is the only way to avoid the wait.

Seems you've really only got 3 options:
1. Pay premium and purchase from a Gray Dealer 2. Establish a relationship at an AD (takes time) and hope to be put on 'list' 3. Choose a different model GMT perhaps ? If you're new to the Rolex game and looking to buy a SS professional model watch its never been more frustrating. |

Have you visited your local ADs yet to see what they say? Don’t go buying crap you don’t need to get the watch just to “build a relationship”. Just go in and have a conversation to feel them out. You should have several ADs around you in CT you can ping and see if any of them are willing to sell you one. You might be surprised. If all else fails, you can wait and see if the prices drop or call one of the trusted scalpers and pay the premium. There were a few used ones that sold here for around $12K so its not quite $5k over when you figure in no sales tax, unless you want new.

get a good condition preowned with the entire set. you can probably find one for $12k, maybe a little less. May have to be ebay but if its from a good seller not sure its much of a risk. They are $9k plus tax, so if you order from out of state, and no tax, it wont be that much of a bank breaker and you will have the watch you want, except with someone else's name on the card (not a big deal).
