Datejust on a rubber strap?

I enjoy watching this chap called Casey Neistat on Youtube, noticed he was wearing a Rolex.

It is a 116200 on an Everest band. I think it looks absolutely awesome! Any of you guys tried this?

My next watch we likely be a blue dial 116200 with a Jubilee, I think it will be super versatile with Jubilee plus everest.

I'm surprised, I expected DJ to look horrible on rubber since rubber is sporty and DJ is dressy, and yet it works.

Exactly. ^

He did a video about that watch. It was a gift from someone is the only reason he wears it. He put the rubber strap because he says he’s too hard on his watch for a bracelet.

This watch game is making me crazy

I love the DJ, but I'm someone who thinks it ONLY looks good on a bracelet. I dislike it on leather, NATO and rubber.

I’m surprised too, I think it looks pretty good. Assume had it had a fluted bezel, I think I’d change my reaction.

If Patek can do it, I guess Rolex can.

That's some cheap rubber strap he got. The white one is what Mike from Everest sent him. (I did a quick google bc it didn't look like an Everest)

Put this on my wife’s 16200 a couple years ago just to see if it fit. Didn’t look all that great IMO

Ha, interesting! It surprisingly works quite well. Although, if the bezel were 18K fluted, it might be a different story.

Yeah agreed, don't think a fluted bezel would work. Maybe it is also the contrast between black strap and white dial that works so well too.

Funny though, when I go on the everest website and select the Datejust, they only have leather straps for it. So I wonder which version of theirs fits the Datejust.

Definitely an Everest. Casey talks about the brand in another video as they reached out to him once they saw he was wearing their strap

Some non-sport Rolex models will look great on a rubber strap. Honestly mostly personal preference anyway. That DJ on the rubber looks fabulous.

The way I read this is only the white band is Everest...

"For his birthday a year later, his wife (Candice) got him a rubber “G-Shock-esque band” for his Datejust. “So, it doesn’t bounce, it doesn’t jingle. Like I really can’t break a rubber band. And all the sudden what was once way too precious for me becomes a fairly practical wristwatch.”

Casey wanted it in white. Something that would “be all dirty and f*cked up looking and gross”. So in February 2016, Mike from Everest Horology Products sent him a custom made white strap for free."

No idea who Casey is but that looks bad. DJ does not work at all on rubber.
