100% depends on your relationship with your dealer. I waited 0 days for one, they called me one day randomly and asked if I wanted one.

New customer walking in off the street, ~2 years.

One approach is asking how many they received in the last year.
Then ask approximately how many people are on the list.
This can give you a ballpark of what to expect.
This approach falls apart if Rolex stops sending as many watches though.

I've always wondered how does it work with an AD... As much as you might have a good relationship with this sales person, I'm sure the other sales person in the store will probably want to get his/her hands on that set for his/her own customer. Who gets 'priority' or how does the allocation actually work? Purchase history? How much 'power' the sales staff that you know has?

Do you feel paying 100% up front will move me to the front of the line versus someone who is a big buyer but only put a little down or put nothing down? To be honest, I'm not an AD guy. I like to have stuff now. That being said, I'm not paying $5k ransom to a gray for this watch. I don't feel it's worth that. I have my limits.

I paid about $1k more (than MSRP and tax) for my TT CHNR to a gray (paid like $15,900 versus $14,900 or so that an AD would have charged with tax) but I feel that was justified given the new movement, new style, etc. I still feel real good about that deal.

I did something similar with the blnr. Now it’s worth even more. Yea it cost me about $1000 more but not sure it wasn’t worth it. I can’t find an AD to be willing to get me one.
