My Last Post was Aug 26, 2016

My how the world has changed. I didn’t expect the Rolex world to also have such big changes! I’m trying to catch-up on TRF after being away for 2.5yrs (life got in the way) and I’m shocked. Prices are insane. Where did all of this demand come from? Any thoughts of adding to my collection have ended.

Yeah...I feel bad for those looking to get into Rolex steel these days. I've been lucky enough to buy at the right time, I suppose (16710 in 2010 pre-owned at $3,650, 116610 LV in Jan 2017 pre-owned at $7,600 - both with B&P).

My brother is looking for a BLNR for his wedding, and it's impossible to find at an AD without a previous relationship...and he's definitely not looking to spend the going rate of $15k!

I wish I had enough restraint to stay off TRF that long. I took it off my bookmarks because I’m so frustrated with the market and I still keep checking in!

Welcome back OP! Yeah, things have definitely gotten pretty crazy in the past couple of years. Judging by your avatar, it looks like u have some beautiful and highly desirable pieces in your collection! You can feel good that you acquired those before the hype of today.

In case you haven't heard about the latest hype after Rolex's 2019 Basel unveiling. The discontinuation of the SS GMT LN, and of the old style BLNR has made the prices on those skyrocket overnight!

If you have a purchase history with your local AD I wouldn’t worry. They just don’t want to sell to flippers. If you’re an old customer they will work with you.

I did see that news. I sold my SS GMT LN to make room for the gold version. It’s amazing to think that this will now likely be priced almost as high as what I paid for the gold (pre-owned) six years ago.
