My SD43 running slow
Anyone else had to have their 1.5 year (3235 movement) watch sent off for service? I was hoping that their on site horologist could just do an adjustment. He checked time and was 6-12 seconds slow and amplitude was weak.

Sent mine to Dallas service center. Now it gains .5 sec during the day and loses .5 at night with crown up. Stays pretty much spot on.

Yes, my AD sent my SD43 to Lititz about 2 months ago. When I bought it (see my sig), the watch was a consistent gainer. Over 10 months, it slowed and was running 4 sec. slow per 24 hours. It came back 3 weeks later and runs 1.5 - 2 sec. fast per 24 hours. Perfect!
The only action noted on the RSC form was "Checked movement". My AD charged me nothing for shipping. Please consider sending your watch - it's part of what you paid $11,350 for.

Mine 3155 movement is 10 seconds slow per day. I gave up trying to make it perfect after going to multiple repair shops. I heard from people that it isn’t that bad.

Dropped my SD43 at the Beverly Hills service center over a month a go as it was horribly slow. Was done in two weeks and runs perfectly now.

Yes, my 126660 Deep Sea with the 3235 movement was sent back for service.
I gave it a few months to settle in but it was gradually losing more and more time. Once it got to around 6 seconds per day I sent it back for regulation. My local watchmaker (not an AD) thought the amplitude was lower than it should be as well, so that helped with the decision. As I live in New Zealand, my watch had to go to Australia for regulation and pressure testing, but it still only took three or 4 weeks. For those who say "live with it", I do understand that view point, it is still incredibly accurate if losing 10 seconds per day, and I can look up the exact time on my phone....but I do feel the watch should be running within Rolex's 'Superlative Chronometer' specs when purchased. |
