I think that Rolex's isolation of the OP39 at an entry level pricepoint blinds them to the marketing possibilities of a simple, elegant watch that tells time. (Edit .. and yet which also reflects a bit more of that Rolex hardy and water-resistant history than the Cellini, and a bit more of the elegant refinement of yesteryear's OP. I have a mid 1940s gold OP. It's taken until now, imo, for the OP lugs to return to that elegant anthropomorphic feel.).

Huge 114300 fan!
But IMHO gives the white dial this reference a pale appeal.

The photos yield that. Wait till you see it in person.

Agreed that the double batons disturb the peace. In a way they are doing me a favor, by herding me onto the definitive OP39 dial, which marks the proud re-emergence of the plain, elegant, symmetric OP on par in size with sports watches.

Thank you for responding, going to Schiphol Airport next Monday, I will look in the Gassan shop or Rolex Boutique if the white one is in stock, to see it in real life.

Other than a few technical details, why would one not choose the 39mm Explorer over this? they both look almost identical with the black, and the Explorer seems so much "more" of a piece in my opinion...

~ nice watch though...

I finally got to see this watch in person this afternoon. I just love the subtle silver hue of the dial, not a straight white at all. I came really close to buying it today, but decided not to make a rash decision. Even though my wife said, "Buy it". Will ponder it for a few days.

Hey it's almost a grand less than the Exp. Seems like a smart move if you like it. It's also a really great looking watch!!!

My watch dealer said he has way more people through his store actually preferring the OP39 to the Explorer due to the classic and timeless design. I think people are getting so caught up in the EasyLink being on the Explorer and not the OP that they view that as the end all.

I have a message into my AD to see indeed exactly how much adding the EasyLink would be. I have a feeling if the EasyLink were on the OP the tables would turn for many.

The easy link should be around 60 euros.

I think it's more than the clasp itself, people like the classic 3,6,9 dial as well.

The OP does have an edge with the dial color variations. Perhaps if the Explorer gets a white variant this year, it would be another shift.

If that’s true the easy link thing is pretty much a nonissue. I figured Rolex wouldn’t sell you that, because, well, it’s Rolex.

This is a nice looking watch! I just think owning a 39mm Explorer and White Daytona C it would be a little superfluous in my collection...but I really like it.
