A few holiday pictures

Sorry I haven't been around much... just busy doing stuff as usual...

While I was away I proposed ... she said yes

But then while we were in Europe the plan was to go to Rome and London but... Nooooo we ended up staying with the in-laws for 15 days so I gave myself a gift the day after I returned home

And that's how life goes...

Congrats, Patrick - there's no more romantic city to pop the question!

Oh, the photos were pretty good too.

Great Stuff Patrick.

Although that pic of the Red Windmill gets me all angry...look how sanitarised and clean and honourable it looks....ewwwwww, some things should be left a little "dirty".

I would regale you all with tales of my adventure in Paris and a certain club but I'm afraid it may result in a banning!

Very beautiful photos Patrick, and big congrats for your engagement!
Did you get permissions from the subjects for the street photos? e.g. the woman in umbrella shot?
Also, can you share how you took the shot with the street performer?

Thank you, I don't ask for permission, it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission

The street performer... Well iso 1600, f/2.5 hand held using a Nikon D3 and 28/1.4 AF-D, 1/40th of a sec manual iso setting to get the proper WB ...

Trust me ... condolences are on order and Paris... well she grew up in Paris as such I am sure she can think of a few more romantic places like Rome or Venice (as long as it is not under water )

Since you requested,
My condolences to you.
Beautiful pictures again.
Looking at your pix makes me want to get a good camera, but I know, it is not the camera that makes the picture.
Wish I had you talent.

Now you are talking! Get a good camera = get crappy pics still, okay a good camera makes my life easier but, I have a few hundred thousands of pictures worth of practice behind the camera as well

It is good glass, not super, super glass would be a 200/2 VR or a 35/1.4 AI-S actually the colors out of a 34/1.4 AI-S are better than any other glass I have, far richer and just... better, the 200/2 is only super sharp with great bokeh (The best bokeh)
