rolex datejust 1601 and 1603

Hi there,

I've been trying to find out when these ran from, so production years from the start to their final finish year.

Is there a place on this forum with the info, or does one of you know the answers to these?

I’ve seen a really nice 1603 with a serial number 5991522 that pinpoints it to 1979.
I’ve also seen others online at places like Bobswatches for 1978 and 1979.
If production stopped in 1977 for the 1603, were 1603s still being produced beyond this to 1979 and 1980?

Agree with 1959 as the start date. Not sure of the latter
